Amazing experience of the day: I shook Jello Biafra's hand at Shaw Theatre in Kalamazoo. Jello delivered a two-and-a-half-hour, shake-the-rafters monologue to a packed house; Rick and I caught up to him briefly at intermission. We were exhausted and went home after that, but Jello is still there, still addressing the remaining third or so of the audience that proved to be as tireless as he is. (Mr. Boucher is 46 now, yet another living proof that punk never sleeps.)

Also ran into an old friend there at the intermission; Phil is about my age and got his Ph.D. (in physics) the same day I got mine. It was funny to chat with a gray-haired guy who remembered the words to this. Some memes are just too good to die.
